Journey 2013: Featuring Alice Banting
This picture is a flash back to 2013 in my sister’s garden @frangowing . I was experimenting with taking photos of myself while practicing.
This photo was the best one and one failed miserably as I ended up in a bush.
My first Teacher Training. I vividly remember a conversation with Claire @clairemissingham . She came and sat next to me and said “how can we get you to do more practice?
At the time I was a burnt out nursing sister working full time shift work. I was like I am doing the best I can. I can’t do more. I have no time in the morning. Clare said to me “ I have a child, so I get up before my child wakes up to practice”. Claire is very small, a bit like the fairy tinkerbell but she is mighty.
I listened to her and I started getting up early everyday at 5.30 to do surya Namaskar in my London Kitchen. Before I cycled to work to start my 12 hour shift at 7.30.
You can always make time for practice. It doesn’t have to be hours and hours.
Yoga practices are a strong medicine but they are a slow medicine. It takes time and you have to keep taking the medicine.
When we practice we are not just practicing for ourselves. When we get into mind, body breath alignment . We create a ripple effect. When we change our frequency we change the frequency of those around us. Our loved ones, our family, our local community and the collective consciousness.
